An AI taken apart into the simplest switches, running on your computer

We rebuilt an open-source AI model entirely out of logic gates: nothing but on and off. Open the page and it works out answers bit by bit on your own graphics card, and every step can be checked.

Free · no wallet · nothing goes on chain · needs desktop Chrome or Edge

Phones can’t run this model. To try it yourself, open 21nand.bem.city in Chrome or Edge on a computer.

A general-knowledge question
The capital of France is Paris.
A real answer, identical bit for bit to the original model · about 0.5–1.5 s per word

OUR FIRST CHIP · BARD

The Bard

An AI that tells short stories, made directly into a chip. There is no processor and no program inside: what it learned is carved into the silicon, and it starts talking as soon as it powers on. Its complete blueprint is already on chain, where anyone can fetch and check it and no one can change it.

On 2026-10-12 the design passed every manufacturing-rule check and its blueprint was stored on X Layer. It has not been sent to a fab yet.

How big is it?

260 billiongates to produce one wordAs if every person on Earth flipped a switch more than 30 times for each word.
~25,000gates fit in one on-chain circuitTen million times too small, so the whole model can’t go on chain; only small circuits do.
0 differencescompared bit by bit with the originalEvery bit the gates compute matches the original model.
